A grounded presence with a voice that carries

In this installment of our Meet the Band series, we turn the spotlight on Shandy Tuskaderro — a versatile member of PetRock whose contributions extend well beyond the stage lights. Whether lending harmony, layering keys, playing guitar, or taking the lead on select songs, Shandy brings depth, musicality, and a steady sense of presence to every performance.

A Foundation in Music
Shandy’s connection to music began early.

“I’ve always loved music,” she says. “As a kid, I felt a strong pull toward the guitar. It just felt right.” But before she could start lessons, her mother had a condition: a full year of piano first.

“At the time, I didn’t appreciate it,” she admits, “but looking back, I’m grateful. That early experience helped me understand music on a deeper level, and it shaped how I approach my instruments today.”

From the Crowd to the Stage
Her path into PetRock sounds like something out of a musical fairytale.

“I started out just hanging around the shows,” she says. “Then I started helping with gear, tuning guitars, selling merch… and here we are!”

It’s a reminder that passion, consistency, and presence often speak louder than auditions.

The Music That Moves Her
When asked about her favorite PetRock song to perform live, Shandy points to a Fleetwood Mac classic.

“Dreams. Besides being a great song, I never sing it alone,” she says. “I see you, front row — and I hear you!”

That sense of shared experience is what live music is all about — and Shandy never takes it for granted.

Instrument of Choice
Shandy performs with a Martin D28, a guitar known for its clarity and resonance.

“It has bright highs, tight lows, and a natural mid scoop that lets my voice sit right in the mix,” she says. “Wherever I go, it comes with me.”

Before the Lights Go Up
Backstage, she keeps it low-key.

“I try to stay out of the way,” she says. “There’s a lot happening backstage, and I’ve learned that calm is often the best contribution I can make.”

In a band full of characters, Shandy holds it down with style.

A Moment That Stands Out
Every performer has small moments that linger — for Shandy, it was an unexpected gesture.

“One night, the Maestro gave me a thumbs up from across the stage,” Shandy recalls. “I’ve been chasing that high ever since.”

It’s a subtle reminder that affirmation, especially from fellow musicians, can resonate long after the show ends.

Looking Ahead
Shandy brings humility, talent, and dedication to PetRock — not just in what she plays or sings, but in how she carries herself as part of the ensemble. Her role may shift from song to song, but the impact remains constant.

Stay tuned for more stories from behind the scenes as we continue this series highlighting the musicians who bring PetRock to life.
