If you’ve ever come to a PetRock show and thought, “Man, I was really hoping they’d play that song tonight,” you’re not alone. We hear it all the time — before shows, at set break, and especially after. And we love that. It means you care. It means you know the music. It means you’ve seen us before.
But here’s the honest truth: we simply can’t play every song people want to hear in a single night.
PetRock currently knows well over 100 songs spanning the best of the 70s — from the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, and Steely Dan to Hall & Oates, Doobie Brothers, Supertramp, America, Little River Band, Ambrosia, and Player. That’s a huge catalog, and we’re proud of it. Learning that many songs takes time, rehearsal, and serious attention to detail to make sure we’re doing them justice. But the bigger challenge comes when it’s time to build a setlist.
A typical show gives us room for about 30 songs. That means 70+ songs are sitting on the bench every night.
So how do we choose?
We rotate.
Not randomly, and not carelessly, but intentionally. We mix in the songs you expect with deep cuts you forgot you loved. We swap songs in and out from night to night and show to show. Why? Because it keeps us excited and motivated on stage — and when we’re having a blast, you feel it in the room. A band that’s engaged, and energized always puts on a better show than one running through the same script every weekend.
It also keeps the experience fresh for you. If you come see PetRock multiple times a year, you’re not getting the same concert on repeat. You’re getting a familiar vibe with new surprises woven in. That’s by design.
And yes — sometimes the song you requested last time might be in the set next time. Or the time after that.
So if you didn’t hear your favorite tune this show, don’t worry. There’s a very good chance it’s waiting in the rotation, ready for its night to shine.
The best way to hear more of your favorites?
